Nineteen of the Russian's 21 victories have been earned on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev claimed his first championship for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult season, achieving just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.
Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in especial - led to him falling of the top ten and eventually splitting with long-term coach his previous coach.
Presently working with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually improved in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set victory over opponent Moutet.
It is his first championship since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface since March of that year.
The win also means Medvedev has won twenty-one titles at twenty-one different events.
"It's the first time I'm at a event with my two daughters at once, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," said ranked player the champion.
"This victory is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter her name was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six championship matches, featuring in Halle in the past months.
His retrieving approach and frequent reactions on the tennis court had prompted some to doubt if his ability to perform at the top level was finished.
But the player has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform aggressively, reinforced by an improved serve.
He fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, taking 4 of the last five exchanges to go ahead.
The pair swapped breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to create a third set.
The opponent rescued 4 early-game chances in a close final set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to close out the victory.
Suitably, Medvedev earned the win with a point at the net area, with Moutet incapable to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
